I have no idea what it is, but my wife tells me I like headphones like some women like shoes. I was pretty amped to find such a stylish pair of headphones for the price. After a week, they came and I was pleasantly surprised at the look. Sometimes product pictures aren't very reliable. I was also surprised how comfortable they were. Then I listened to the sound and again, really surprised....then I heard it. A definite sporadic distortion/scratch in the left ear. They were defective. I checked out the company website to see about getting them replaced. I read that I have to pay to have the headphones returned to the company, so now am I not only disappointed that I bought a defective product, but now I have to be inconvenienced and spend more money to rectify the situation. Ridiculous. But the headphones do look really cool, if it weren't for this defect in my left ear, these things would have definitely received a 5 star review. Their price and design looked good online but after about an hour of use, I was already disappointed. These headphones are really tight when sitting around your neck and they start to hurt after about 15 minutes of use. They don't get any looser because the outer frame is made of plastic so bending it would probably make them snap. They are very durable and sound great, with no signs of static (or the other sounds complained about. I would recommend these headphones to anyone for this price and quality.
